México denuncia operación digital multimillonaria detrás de la marcha de la “Generación Z”

El gobierno acusa campaña internacional de desinformación

El gobierno mexicano ha vinculado la marcha de protesta del 15 de noviembre de jóvenes que se identifican como parte de la “Generación Z” con una supuesta campaña internacional de desinformación, según un informe presentado por Miguel Ángel Elorza, coordinador de la unidad de Infodemia. De acuerdo con este análisis, el gasto estimado en la estrategia digital supera los 90 millones de pesos durante mes y medio.

¿Una supuesta red internacional detrás de la campaña?

Según Elorza, la movilización no se originó únicamente como una protesta juvenil genuina, sino que fue amplificada por una red coordinada de bots, influencers, figuras políticas de oposición y empresarios, entre los que mencionó a Ricardo Salinas Pliego. En su presentación, también vinculó la campaña con Atlas Network, una red internacional con presencia en América Latina y Europa que, según el informe, ha operado campañas similares contra gobiernos progresistas.

Elorza explicó que su equipo rastreó la conversación en línea desde principios de octubre. Identificaron la creación o reactivación repentina de cuentas en TikTok y Facebook con nombres como generacionz_mx, revolucionariosmexicanos y somosgeneraciónzmx. En total, se detectaron al menos 179 cuentas en TikTok y 359 comunidades en Facebook, muchas gestionadas desde el extranjero.

Un punto llamativo del informe es el cambio drástico en la narrativa sobre las protestas con el tiempo. Inicialmente, entre mediados y finales de octubre, el mensaje se centraba en una protesta pacífica demandando la revocación del presidente, pero hacia fines de ese mes comenzaron a circular imágenes generadas por IA, como representaciones del Palacio Nacional en llamas. Tras el asesinato del alcalde de Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, el discurso se orientó hacia la inseguridad, con comunidades digitales que, según Elorza, sincronizaron este cambio de tono.

En una conferencia matutina, la jefa de gobierno Claudia Sheinbaum describió la movilización como una operación política y mediática, más que como una manifestación genuina. Señaló que muchos de los organizadores no pertenecen a esa generación y que existen evidencias de financiamiento extranjero. Para reforzar estas afirmaciones, Luisa María Alcalde, dirigente del partido Morena, presentó un contrato entre el Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) y uno de los presuntos organizadores de la marcha, identificado como Edson Andrade, por más de 2 millones de pesos para “estrategia digital y manejo de redes sociales”.

Reacciones oficiales y presencia internacional

El informe de Infodemia también señala que algunas páginas en redes sociales, previamente dedicadas a entretenimiento o viajes, cambiaron repentinamente su enfoque para promover la marcha o criticar al gobierno. Además, se habría utilizado contenido audiovisual emocional dirigido específicamente a un público joven para amplificar la manifestación, declaró Elorza.

Otros medios, como Publimetro, reportaron sobre la acusación gubernamental respecto a una “ultraderecha internacional” involucrada en la operación digital. Según este reporte, entre los presuntos promotores se encuentran consultores digitales de otros países, como Fernando Cerimedo, quien ha participado en campañas políticas en América Latina.

En el contexto de estas acusaciones, la marcha se realizó con una presencia significativa de adultos, no solo jóvenes, según el propio gobierno. El País reportó que, de los aproximadamente 17,000 asistentes, muchos tenían más de 30 años. Durante la protesta ocurrieron incidentes violentos: se lanzaron piedras y otros objetos al Palacio Nacional, resultando en alrededor de 120 lesionados y al menos 20 detenciones, según la misma fuente.

En su denuncia, Sheinbaum también solicitó una investigación sobre quienes pudieron haber financiado o coordinado la marcha desde el extranjero. Mientras tanto, Infodemia insiste en que el movimiento no fue meramente digital, sino una “movilización artificial” orquestada con intereses políticos y económicos.
