Lula, el cuerpo como narrativa: política, edad y poder en la era de la imagen total

El presidente brasileño convierte su rutina física en herramienta política y redefine el liderazgo en la mayor democracia de América Latina.

La política contemporánea ha entrado en una fase en la que el cuerpo del líder deja de ser un elemento privado para convertirse en un activo público cuidadosamente gestionado. En este contexto, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva ha transformado su rutina de ejercicio en una extensión directa de su estrategia electoral, proyectando una imagen de vitalidad en medio de su aspiración a un histórico cuarto mandato presidencial.

A sus 80 años, Lula no solo compite en el terreno de las ideas, sino también en el de la percepción física: resistencia, energía y la capacidad de sostener el ritmo del poder. Sus entrenamientos, compartidos en redes sociales y amplificados por su entorno político y personal, muestran al presidente realizando ejercicios de fuerza, caminatas y rutinas de gimnasio, en una narrativa donde el esfuerzo físico se convierte en argumento político.

Lo que antes pertenecía a la vida privada de un líder se ha convertido en un dispositivo de comunicación electoral. Videos recientes muestran a Lula entrenando bajo supervisión, levantando pesas, haciendo sentadillas y trotando, mientras su entorno, incluida la primera dama Rosângela “Janja” da Silva, documenta y difunde estas escenas como parte de una estrategia cuidadosamente construida. El mensaje es claro: la edad no define la capacidad de gobernar, y un cuerpo activo se convierte en prueba simbólica de continuidad política.

En este contexto, el uso del cuerpo como herramienta política no es un fenómeno aislado. En las democracias contemporáneas, la imagen del liderazgo ha evolucionado hacia una lógica donde la vitalidad física funciona como metáfora de estabilidad institucional. Correr, entrenar o mostrar disciplina física ya no son gestos personales, sino herramientas de comunicación diseñadas para transmitir control, energía y preparación para el poder.

El caso de Lula adquiere una dimensión particular debido a su trayectoria histórica. Su biografía política, marcada por el liderazgo sindical, la presidencia, el encarcelamiento y el regreso al poder, convierte su figura en un símbolo de resistencia prolongada. En este sentido, su cuerpo comunica no solo salud, sino persistencia. Cada aparición en el gimnasio refuerza una narrativa de continuidad que trasciende lo físico y entra en el ámbito político.

Las redes sociales han amplificado este fenómeno, transformando la política en una experiencia visual permanente. En este ecosistema, la imagen del presidente entrenando circula simultáneamente como contenido político, emocional y mediático. No se trata solo de cercanía o transparencia, sino de una estrategia en la que la exposición del esfuerzo físico construye legitimidad.

Sin embargo, esta visibilidad también genera tensiones. La frontera entre autenticidad y construcción estratégica se vuelve cada vez más difusa. Mientras algunos interpretan estas imágenes como una forma moderna de conexión con los votantes, otros las ven como una sofisticada operación de marketing político en la que el cuerpo se convierte en escenario de campaña.

En última instancia, el caso brasileño refleja una transformación más profunda del liderazgo contemporáneo. La política ya no se define únicamente por el discurso institucional, sino también por la producción constante de imágenes que validan la capacidad de gobernar. El cuerpo del líder se convierte así en un campo simbólico donde se negocia la propia idea de autoridad.

En esta tensión entre biografía, imagen y poder, Lula encarna una paradoja contemporánea: un líder de larga trayectoria que debe demostrar continuamente que aún posee la energía física necesaria para gobernar en una era donde la política también se mide en términos de resistencia.
